Datuk Mohd Amin Nordin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Director-General at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), said the 183 families who acquired units at the PPR can now move into their new homes.
“DBKL will help the families to move by providing them the transportation, while each family will also receive RM2,000 compensation from the Government,” he said.
Mohd Amin added that the DBKL is currently fixing minor problems with the units to ensure that all the components of the new homes are ready prior to the residents moving in.
Around 58 families comprising retired civil servants will also be relocated to the PPR Kampung Muhibbah in Jalan Klang Lama, while the Jalan Duta government quarters will be allocated to families with handicapped members.
Ja’apar Mansor, Finance Secretary at Cuepacs, said he was thankful to the government for providing homes closer to the city and to DBKL for assisting with the move.
Those in Jalan Cochrane, consisting of pre-World War II government quarters, are being moved out to make way for a redevelopment project.
The new project in Jalan Cochrane, to be carried out by the Armed Forces Fund Board, is estimated to cost RM200 million and will be completed in 30 months
