KAPIT: The Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) has called on the government to immediately recruit and assign more medical officers (MOs) to Kapit Hospital.Cuepacs Malaysia deputy president Azih Muda announced this yesterday during a press conference after meeting with civil servants here.

“Cuepacs calls on the government and the relevant agency and ministry – Public Services Commission and the Ministry of Health Malaysia and the Sarawak Health Department – to immediately recruit and deploy more medical officers to Kapit Hospital in line with the government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s slogan 1Malaysia: People First, Performance Now,” he said.Azih said Cuepacs members here had complained that there are not enough MOs to look after the people’s needs.
“There are only six or seven MOs but there are more than 120,000 people. It is definitely not enough to provide for the healthcare of the people.“Can you imagine the very heavy responsibility of the MOs serving here? Cuepacs is concerned and we call on the government and the relevant agencies to act immediately,” he said.He added that Cuepacs hopes the government will announce a new salary scheme to replace the New Civil Service Remuneration Scheme (SBPA), which was rejected in 2011.Cuepacs met with civil servants to get their feedback on various issues faced by those serving in Kapit.
The congress also explained the status of current issues affecting civil servants.Among those present were Cuepacs Sarawak chairperson Cecilia Yong, Cuepacs Malaysia secretary Jaapar Mansor and Cuepacs Sarawak secretary Ahmad Malie. The session was attended by heads of all government departments and agencies.

Skuad Pengguna

Hadir sama, Presiden CUEPACS Datuk Omar Osman.
