Cuepacs Wants A Meeting With PM To Get Actual Picture

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- Cuepacs will push for a meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to get the actual picture regarding his statement on the request for a bonus and the national economic situation.

Cuepacs president Omar Osman said the meeting was necessary to enable the congress to explain to its members what was meant by the Prime Minister in his statement.

"We want more detailed explanation so that we can then explain to our members. Now, we are confused over his statement, this also includes our members," he told reporters after a special Cuepacs meeting, here on Saturday.

Earlier this week, Najib was reported to have said that it was morally wrong for Cuepacs to demand for a bonus as the nation was still facing an economic slowdown and many workers in the private sector had been retrenched.

Omar said all members of the Cuepacs council who attended the special meeting had agreed that a letter would be sent to the Prime Minister to call for the meeting and it would be sent on Monday.
